The 720 Project
This project isnt finished yet but here is how it started to where it is now.
An empty cabinet (Good CRT in it at least). The cabinet was in pretty good shape, not much work needed.
I managed to source a NOS joystick, was pretty happy about that!
Next was to remove the old faded graphics from the control panel and boombox marquee and add new graphics. Grinding, sanding, primer and then paint.
I designed some new artwork for the sides and front. I also made the control panel colors "POP" just a little more.
I also created little side decals for the top boombox marquee to help make it look more like a real boombox.
I really wanted a skateboard on top as a topper so I bought a cheap generic skateboard from Fleet Farm, painted the trucks and designed a graphic that matched the skateboard from the title screen. I think it turned out pretty cool!
Here is the final look. Now to get the game inside and working. Ill probably use a raspberry pi and figure out how to use the original controls with it booting to 720. I already have a pi to crt board so I can use this nice monitor. I also decided to create a custom bezel graphic with some of my childhood favorite boards.
